Knowledge has a cost.
Many of these findings came from procedures designed to cause fear, injury, isolation, illness, or death. Scientific importance does not cancel that fact.
Modern animal research is governed by the 3Rs: replace animals where possible, reduce their number, and refine procedures to lessen harm. This project treats that ethical ledger as part of the science.
